If you like to read and want to understand economics a bit better but the idea of reading about “elastic demand” makes you feel like sticking pins in your eyes give this ago which talks about the hidden side of economics. The author poses some compelling evidence that the rapid decline in crime in the 1990’s was driven by the legalisation of abortion in the 1970’s and children who would have received a poor upbringing due to not being wanted and statistically more likely to commit crime weren’t around at the time they would have been the right age to commit those crimes.
