Reports & Analytics Location: Navigation → Error Message
The Error Messages reports capture error messages on site. There is a prop and eVar version of this report.
Note: Not all error messages are tagged. If you cannot find the error message that you are interested in in the report, it’s probably not tagged and so you won’t be able to get any data on it. If you are interested in finding out how/where the error occurs rather than volumetric data, you can use SessionCam’s in page search function to find and watch sessions where the error message appeared.
Error Message (prop)
Reports & Analytics Location: Navigation → Error Message → Error Message (prop)
The prop version of this report is used to give an indication of volumes of particular error messages.
Metrics you can use with the Error Message (prop) report;
- Instances
- Tells you the number of times each error message appeared. ‘How many times did the error message ‘Please enter a valid email address’ appear yesterday?’
- Visits
- De-duped instances to tell you the number of customers who saw each error message. ‘How many customers saw the ‘Please enter a valid email address’ error yesterday?’
Error Message (eVar)
Reports & Analytics Location: Navigation → Error Message → Error Message (eVar)
Error Message (eVar) attributes conversion metrics such as revenue and orders to error messages.
Metrics you can use with the Error Message (eVar) report;
- Conversion
- Any revenue metric (prefixed ‘Revenue:’)
- Any orders metric (prefixed ‘Orders:’)
- Any units metric (prefixed ‘Units:’)
- Average Order Value (AOV)
Note: This is an eVar report, and is based on a last-click wins model. This means that the last value captured before an order is placed is credited with the order and all associated metrics such as revenue and conversion.
