Hits
- A hit is an instance of a data send to Adobe (also known as an image request) that occurs when a web page is loaded or there’s an interaction with an element on a loaded page. Multiple hits can occur on the same page as interactions such as clicking a button, clicking to view a bigger image or expanding the product reviews section will increment a hit without triggering a new page load. There can therefore be more hits than page views but never more page views than hits.
Page Views
- A Page View is a type of hit and counts the number of times a web page was loaded. If a page is re-loaded, refreshed or accessed via back buttons, another page view will be captured. See more detail on page views here.
Visits
- Visits is a traffic metric which tells us how many user sessions were completed on the Website or App over a period of time. It can also be used to understand how many users performed a particular action over a period of time, such as logging into their account or looking at the TV’s category. Adobe uses Cookies to tie multiple visits to the same unique user (Unique Visitor). See more detail on visits here.
Unique Visitors
- The Unique Visitors metric is used to understand, overall, how many unique users (or customers) performed a particular action over a period of time, such as coming to the website, logging into their account, or looking at a Home and Garden product. Adobe uses Cookies to tie multiple visits to the same unique user. See more detail on Unique Visitors here.
